What is a rain garden?

Rain gardens are designed to collect and absorb rainwater. They reduce stormwater runoff—rain that runs off hard surfaces and into storm drains—which helps prevent flooding, and protects our rivers, streams and wildlife habitat.

About the garden

  • The rain garden is a demonstration rain garden that has been designed to prevent storm water from running onto the road way as it captures rain from the nearby office building.
  • The plants used in the garden are both functional and pollinator friendly and create an aesthetically pleasing garden.
