About Goods Exchange Weekends

Goods Exchange Weekends are a City-wide coordinated effort to keep usable goods out of the landfill by finding them new homes. By turning the curbside into a free marketplace, residents can put out reusable and gently used items that can be re-homed by neighbours.

How to participate

  • Clearly label items you’re offering as “FREE” and put them at the curb after 5 p.m. on the Friday of a goods exchange weekend.
  • Keep bikes, toys and gardening tools you’re not exchanging away from the curb to prevent confusion.
  • Tour your neighbourhood to see what great items you can find at the curb.
  • Remove unclaimed goods from your curb by 7 p.m. on Monday.
