The Business Licence Appeals Committee is composed of 5 members of Council appointed for the term of Council to hear appeals under the Business Licence By-law.
The Appeals Committee Adopted Rules of Procedure to govern their hearings in May of 2007.
Some rules of procedure will differ from the rules of Council and its standing committees because the Appeals Committee is a quasi-judicial body. The Appeals Committee will meet for the purpose of holding hearings to consider appeals under the Business Licence By-law and is bound by the provisions of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act which permits appeals committees to establish rules regulating its practices and procedures.
