Construction notice: Keating Street road closure starts March 28

West limit of Keating Street About the project Kieswetter Excavating will be working on behalf of the City of Guelph to remove the cul-de-sac at the end of Keating Street and install service connections for the adjacent subdivision development. Keating Street will be extended into the new development when the development is constructed. Work begins March 28 Work is expected to begin on Thursday, March 28 and will take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting. Construction notice: Victoria Road lane reduction for Sanitary Bypass starting February 24

The City is continuing construction on the York Trunk Sewer and Paisley-Clythe Feeder Main Phase 2B project. Work in this phase takes place between Boult Avenue and Victoria Road in Eramosa River Park, and through Florence Lane between Hayes Avenue and Victoria Road, including work along the recreational trails, and a complete reconstruction of Brockville Avenue. The York Trunk Sewer and Paisley-Clythe Feedermain is a $30 million, multi-year infrastructure project. It is the City’s largest water main and wastewater (sanitary) sewer project. It includes the installation of about 6.2 kilometres of water pipes and 3.8 kilometres of sewer pipes. Grange Street and New Street About the project The City is working with Nabolsy Contracting Inc. to undertake private infrastructure work on behalf of the owner of 84 Arthur Street North to install sewer and water services to the new home. Construction starts August 8 Construction is expected to begin on or about August 8 and take approximately one week, weather permitting. Construction notice: Metcalfe Street eastbound lane closed starting July 19

Between Eramosa Road and Cadillac Drive The City is replacing and upgrading a major water main on Eramosa Road and Glenhill Place. The contractor is experiencing issues with the existing City water infrastructure and will require a closure to further investigate. Construction begins July 19 Construction will take approximately one evening, starting on July 19 at 7 p.m., weather permitting. Further paving of the site has yet to be determined. Lane reductions and detours The eastbound lane of Metcalfe Street will be closed between Eramosa Road towards Cadillac Drive. Only local traffic will be permitted. Construction notice: East Parkade lighting upgrade and stairwell repair begins July 3

About the project Scheduled lighting upgrade work on all levels including the roof of the East Parkade will begin on July 3, 2018. The lighting upgrade will replace the existing lighting with high-efficiency LED lighting on all levels of the parkade. The City will also install new exit signage. The new LED lighting provides brighter, cleaner light quality, further extending the City’s commitment to finding environmentally friendly solutions as we renovate City facilities. Crews will also be repairing two of the parkade’s stairwells which will require the full closure of each stairwell, beginning with the North West stairwell. Only one stairwell will be closed at a time. It is expected that the work will be completed by late summer 2018. Construction notice: New pedestrian crossover to be installed on Ironwood Road starting August 3

East of Reid Court About the project The City is working with TM3 Inc. to install a new mid-block pedestrian crossover at Ironwood Road, just east of Reid Court. The new pedestrian crossover will include: Ladder style crossover pavement markings Shark’s teeth yield lines “Stop for pedestrians” signs New crossover to be installed August 3 Installation of the new crossover is expected to start around August 3 and will continue for approximately three weeks, weather permitting. Lane reductions and detours Traffic will be maintained in both directions, however, there will be lane reductions and delays should be expected. Construction notice: Silvercreek Trail extension continues May 1

Trail and parking lot are closed until June 1 The City of Guelph continues construction on the Silvercreek Trail extension in Silvercreek Park, located at 142 Edinburgh Street South. The remaining work includes: Continuing the construction a three-metre wide asphalt trail Topcoat of asphalt Finalizing parking facility Landscape work including sodding and seeding Park users are not permitted inside the construction fencing that marks the active construction zone. Once the fencing is removed, the entire park space will be accessible to the public. Construction is expected to be complete by June 1, weather permitting. Repairs to pedestrian signal on Gordon Street at Water Street start April 3

Gordon Street at Water Street The City is working to repair a pedestrian signal at the intersection of Gordon Street and Water Street that was damaged over the weekend in a traffic accident. Repairs will start April 3 Work is expected to be complete on April 4, depending on the level of damage. Pedestrian access is limited Pedestrian access to the west side of the road is limited at the intersection. Pedestrians are advised to use the crosswalk at Gordon Street and Wellington Street while repairs are underway. Elizabeth Street closed for emergency culvert repair February 22

Elizabeth Street from Beaumont Crescent to York Road The City’s Operations department is working on an emergency culvert repair at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and York Road. Elizabeth Street will be closed from Beaumont Crescent to York Road Culvert repairs will begin on February 22 and take one week, weather permitting. Traffic on York Road will remain open, however, traffic on Elizabeth Street from Beaumont Crescent to York Road will be closed. Property access and parking Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). McCrae House renovations start November 28

The McCrae House National Historic Site is undergoing renovations that start on November 28. Renovations include electrical and technology upgrades to the coach house to support educational programming, a storage room and repainting, exterior lighting projects and washroom renovations. City staff are also considering the replacement of perimeter fencing in the backyard of McCrae House. The City’s Heritage Planner, forestry advisers and accessibility staff have been engaged with the process. Every effort will be made by the City to protect and preserve shared neighbourhood trees and historical features. Construction schedule Construction starts on November 28 and will wrap up in March 2018, weather permitting.
