What to do if your student card isn’t working on Guelph Transit

You can continue to ride the bus by showing the driver your student card, until the card issue is resolved.

To fix the issue, please email [email protected] with the following information:

  • Five-digit number on the back of your University of Guelph student card
  • The bus number (found above the farebox)
  • The date and time the card failed to tap
  • The message on the farebox when you tried to tap your card

Check your eligibility

Check your student account or tuition statement to check that you’ve been charged for your UPass.

If you haven’t been charged, please contact the Central Student Association by emailing [email protected].

Check if your card is damaged

Does your card work on campus for the library or your meal plan? If it doesn’t, there’s a good chance your card is damaged. Please contact the Campus Card Office.

If your card has worked in other places and is not visibly damaged, please email [email protected] with the following information:

  • Five-digit number on the back of your University of Guelph student card
  • The bus number (found above the farebox)
  • The date and time the card failed to tap
  • The message on the farebox when you tried to tap your card
