What to do if your student card isn’t working on Guelph Transit

Here are some things you can try if your student card isn’t working on Guelph Transit:

  • Email [email protected] with the following information:
    • Five-digit number on the back of your University of Guelph student card
    • The bus number (found above the farebox)
    • The date and time the card failed to tap
    • The message on the farebox when you tried to tap your card
  • Check your eligibility
  • Check your student account or tuition statement to check that you’ve been charged for your U-Pass
  • If you haven’t been charged, please contact your school’s administration
  • Check if your card is damaged
  • Does your card work on campus for the library or your meal plan? If it doesn’t, there’s a good chance your card is damaged. Please contact your school’s administration.

You can continue to ride the bus by showing the driver your student card, until the card issue is resolved.
