About the project
The City received notice from Metrolinx that lease of the space for Locomotive 6167 on their property on Farqhuar Street will end December 15, 2020.
A report went to Committee of the Whole on September 3, 2019. During the capital budget process on November 13, 2019, Council approved $650,000 to move Locomotive 6167 to John Galt Park, adjacent to the River Run Centre on Woolwich Street.
The contract to move the locomotive has been awarded to Greenspace Group, with the heavy lift portion of the project sub-contracted to Mammoet.

Timeline
October 21 – Preparations at John Galt Park begin for the plinth that will hold the locomotive.
October 22 – The Time Line/Water Line sculpture in John Galt Park moved to a new platform in the park.
October 26 – Locomotive volunteers begin to prepare the locomotive for relocation.
November 9 – Contractors begin site work at the Farqhuar Street location to prepare for the move.
November 14 – Locomotive 6167 is moved to John Galt Park.
