As the Fog Clears Plot the Course by Christopher Cape

Painting of green space with two white-tailed deer and two coyotes standing and looking into the distance

Residing in Guelph, Ontario, my work is inspired by the beautiful surroundings and beguiling light present in Wellington County.

Venturing into the field to collect data, En Plein Air, my objective is to dissolve the boundaries between us. Visually exploring the world of subjects and objects, primarily in oil, I work with bold brush strokes to extrapolate key elements of our constantly changing world.

Pushing for abstraction in shape, and colour, the paintings are imbued with a light that creates life within the viewer. Fostering an exploration of the world, our connection to it, and providing the opportunity to see that it in turn connects us.
