It is difficult for Jessie to define her work precisely; however, she would say that it is inspired by her ancestry (Anishinaabe & Canadian).
Jessie explores this through engaging with the land, stories, tensions and experiences that inspire her.
She is a member of Aamjiwnaang First Nation but grew up in the country setting of Caledon, Ontario. Jessie now lives and works in Guelph, Ontario.
