Wellington and Waterloo Trunk Sewer Class Environmental Assessment and Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan Preliminary Design Study

About the project

The 2023 Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan (W/WW MP) recommended several upgrades to the water distribution and wastewater collection system. This project includes the further study of trunk sewers in the approximate limits of what was identified as Area 5 in the W/WW MP (see Figure 1 below). For this broader area, the study team will be looking for the best solution to support the needs of the trunk sewer system today and into the future.

A smaller portion of the project area is being initiated as a Class Environmental Assessment (EA). This is the Wellington and Waterloo Trunk Sewer EA, for which the study limits are shown below in Figure 2. The EA will evaluate various wastewater collection system solutions to solve the capacity constraints identified in the W/WW MP, and to recommend the preferred solution for implementation.

The location and approximate extent of the study area are shown on the map.
