September 28, 2020 update
Sportsfields and diamonds are open until the next scheduled inspection. For information about booking sportsfields and diamonds, please contact [email protected].
Note: sportsfields are inspected daily, Monday to Friday, and closure notice is made by 2 p.m. If rain begins after 2 p.m., or on the weekend, please exercise due diligence and responsibility by not using the fields. Notify Facility Bookings before the end of the business day.
100% compliance is expected when fields are closed by the City. Groups who continue to play on closed or wet fields will be charged and invoiced at the full unsubsidized rate and will be held responsible for the cost of the field repairs and any resulting lost revenues; and further, can have their facility permits revoked.
Saturated soil conditions are the most common reason for field closures and can be potentially dangerous for participants. Turf quickly deteriorates when used under such soil conditions and can result in extended periods of closure during the season. We may not be able to provide groups with an alternate facility to compensate for field closure. So it is in everyone’s best interest to ensure that fields are not used if play will damage the turf.
