Flushing toilets account for about a third of all household water use. Replacing older inefficient toilets is a simple way to save BIG on water bills. To be eligible, your home or building must have been built before January 1, 2014, be located in Guelph, use the municipal water supply and have a water account administered by the City of Guelph.
Get a $50 rebate for each toilet you replace
You can earn a $50 rebate for each 6-litre or larger toilet you replace with a WaterSense® certified high efficiency (4.8-litre/flush or less) single or dual flush toilet.
The City of Guelph reserves the right to cancel or change the program at any time. Please review the Royal Flush Terms and Conditions before submitting your application.
Your rebate will be applied to your water bill (Guelph Hydro/Alectra bill) within 10 weeks after your application is approved.
Homeowners (up to two toilets)
Complete the Royal Flush rebate: residential application online or use the print-friendly Royal Flush residential rebate application (PDF), attach your sales receipt and send to the email or mailing address below.
Multi-residential, industrial, commercial and institutional customers
Please contact us and tell us how many toilets you plan to replace and learn about any site inspections that may be required.
Purchase and install multi-residential, industrial, commercial and institutional WaterSense® eligible toilet models to replace 6-litre or larger toilets.
Complete the Royal Flush rebate: Multi-residential and Industrial, Commercial and Institutional application online or use the print-friendly Royal Flush multi residential rebate application (PDF), attach your sales receipt and send to the email or mailing address below.
You may need to be available for a site inspection.

Eligible toilets subject to change
All eligible toilet models meet the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) WaterSense® Performance Standard guidelines. The WaterSense® standards require toilet models to include chemical resistant trim components and a minimum flush capacity of 350 grams. Independent, third-party licensed bodies certify that products meet the WaterSense® criteria for water efficiency and performance.
Eligible toilet models are subject to change upon the availability of new WaterSense® performance standards.
