The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) represents Ontario’s 444 municipalities. Through AMO, Ontario’s municipalities work together to achieve shared goals and meet common challenges.
The AMO Annual Conference takes place in late August and brings together municipal and provincial government leadership, providing an opportunity for municipalities to meet directly with provincial decision-makers. The City of Guelph regularly participates in the AMO conference, where City Council and senior staff meet with provincial government leaders to discuss critical issues, highlight collaboration opportunities, and promote Guelph as a leader in the municipal sector to influence change in our community.
To support the City’s delegation at AMO, City staff prepare advocacy materials which highlight the key issues where the City is seeking provincial support. Please note that as many of these issues are highly dynamic, the materials below reflect the advocacy priorities at the time of the conferences:
