About the plans

Skip the line-up and save your stamps!

With a pre-authorized payment plans, your tax payments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account or financial institution according to the schedule you choose.

You may join any plan at any time, but registration for all plans closes in September of each year.

Applications that are submitted after registration has closed, will be enrolled in the following year.

Before January, you will receive an email confirming that the registration has been completed with payment details and schedules.

Installment only plan

Property tax payments will be withdrawn from your account on the due dates at the end of February, April, June and September.

9-month plan

Property tax payments will be withdrawn from your account on the last business day of each month from January to September. This plan is a lot like arranging equal billing for utilities.

In June of each year, you will receive a tax notice. Changes in your property assessment or municipal tax rates will be reflected and your remaining monthly payments will be adjusted. Your new schedule of monthly payments for the following year will also be included.

11-month plan

Property tax payments will be withdrawn from your account on the last business day of each month from January to November. This plan is a lot like arranging equal billing for utilities.

In June of each year, you will receive a tax notice. Changes in your property assessment or municipal tax rates will be reflected and your remaining monthly payments will be adjusted. Your new schedule of monthly payments for the following year will also be included.

12-Month Plan

Property tax payments will be withdrawn from your account on 15th day of each month from January to December. This plan is a lot like arranging equal billing for utilities.

In June of each year, you will receive a tax notice. Changes in your property assessment or municipal tax rates will be reflected and your remaining monthly payments will be adjusted. Your new schedule of monthly payments for the following year will also be included.

How to register

Register today. It’s easy and it’s free!
  1. Make sure your property taxes are paid and up-to-date. To register for 12 month, 11 month, 9 month and Installment payment plans, your accounts must not have any outstanding balances on your tax account. If your taxes are in arrears we can arrange an arrears monthly payment plan. Please contact us for details as some restrictions may apply.
  2. Download the application to fill it out. Once complete you can print, scan and email, drop off or mail the application and a void cheque from the account you wish to use for your tax payments.
  3. We will contact you to confirm the details of your tax payment schedule, and to arrange any payments that must be paid upon registration.

The deadline for us to receive your application is at least 15 days before the withdrawal date of the plan you choose. Applications that are received late will be enrolled to start withdrawals the next month.

To change or cancel your pre-authorized property tax payment plan, please contact us at least 10 days prior to the next scheduled withdrawal date. Written notice is required, either by email or dropped off at City Hall.

The Treasurer may cancel a pre-authorized property tax payment plan if two payments fail to be honoured within a given tax year. Any unpaid or overdue balance will be subject to late payment charges.
