Current development charge rates

Background

The municipal rates were determined through the completion of a Development Charges Background Study. The City’s Development charge bylaws along with the Development Charges Act provide the rules for collecting municipal development charges.

The education rates are determined by the local school boards. The Upper Grand District School Board and the Wellington Catholic District School Board development charges webpages provide more information. Municipalities collect education development charges and remit the funds to the school boards.

The City created a pamphlet that summarizes information relating to the City of Guelph development charges bylaws.
