Employment Survey

Let’s get down to business.

Employment Survey 2023

The City is conducting its annual Employment Survey targeting local businesses between May and August 2023.

The Employment Survey will help us learn more about current trends in our local economy and inform business support programming as we recover from the pandemic. The survey is optional, and local businesses are encouraged to share as much information as possible to help with this research.

Staff will visit local businesses in-person to conduct the survey on behalf of the City. They will wear shirts branded with the City’s Invest in Guelph logo and identify themselves as working with the City of Guelph.

All information is collected, stored and shared in accordance with the municipal privacy legislation and requirements.

Notice of collection

The City of Guelph is conducting its first annual survey of businesses. Data collected will be used to understand the local economy, identify and analyze trends, and support the Economic Development and Tourism Strategy and related initiatives. In addition, the data will be used to help deliver City services and programs, aid decision and policy making, and communicate with respondents about related matters.

Survey data may be shared with affiliated government organizations (e.g. Workforce Planning Board) for policy research and economic monitoring. In addition, it may be used to create new data products (e.g. business directory). For questions regarding how survey data is shared and used, please contact Kurtis Wells, Economic Development Officer, by phone at 519-822-1260 extension 3561 or email [email protected].
