We are fully booked for marriage ceremonies from January through March 2026. There will be no marriage ceremony appointments offered from April through December 2026 at Guelph City Hall.
We will update our marriage ceremony services through Guelph City Hall in December 2026.
How to get married
You can get your marriage licence through Guelph City Hall for a marriage ceremony performed anywhere within the Province of Ontario with a registered marriage officiant.
Getting married is a two-step process, which includes:
- First, apply for and make an appointment to get your marriage licence.
- Second, have a marriage ceremony within 90 days of getting your marriage licence.
- A marriage ceremony includes the marriage licence document, a registered officiant, and at least two witnesses.
Tip: It is often helpful to book your marriage ceremony with a registered officiant first and then apply for your marriage licence, so you know the timeframe when you must get your licence.
Questions about marriage ceremonies or registered officiants
If you need marriage officiant services that the City of Guelph cannot accommodate, consider the following to find a registered marriage officiant:
- Consult websites and reach out to other municipalities in Ontario
