Getting married at Guelph City Hall
Civil marriage ceremonies are being provided for couples who are looking for a small, simple, non-religious ceremony at City Hall.
Marriage ceremonies take place on Thursdays between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Fridays between 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. As of July 2022, marriage ceremonies will be available on limited Thursdays and Fridays only. Please contact us to schedule your marriage ceremony. Please note that no ceremonies will be booked for October 2022.
About the ceremony:
- The ceremony is a maximum of 30 minutes long.
- Couple must provide two witnesses.
- Couples must also provide an interpreter if they do not speak English and/or require language assistance. The interpreter cannot be one of the witnesses.
- Up to ten (10) people may attend a ceremony. The 10 people in attendance includes the couple, witnesses, and photographer if present. Therefore additional 5-6 guests, depending.
Getting married at a different time or place
A City of Guelph marriage officiant can perform civil marriage ceremonies at other times and locations. Please contact us to discuss options for getting married at a different time or location.
We do not offer civil marriage ceremonies on Sundays.

Fees do not include HST. Fees can be paid in person or by phone and must be paid prior to the ceremony.
