Bike Month Kick-Off Event
June 1 at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
FreeThis June, we’re celebrating our 7th annual Bike Month, and we’re kicking it off with a family-friendly event at York Road Park on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This will be our biggest and best Bike Month Kick-Off yet! Please join us for a day of fun! Highlights include a special address from the Mayor at 11:15 a.m., and a 4 km bike ride along the river at 1:30 p.m. Other activities include:
- A bike show, where you can check out different styles of bikes (like e-cargo bikes, mountain bikes, and others)! If you have a bike that you want to show off in the bike show, please email [email protected]
- A bike rodeo for youth, where newer cyclists can practice and hone their skills.
- You can also chat with community groups, like Guelph Coalition for Active Transportation, Guelph Off-Road Bicycling Association, and the Guelph Cycling Club.
- Or have a chat with our local bike shops, including Speed River Bicycle, BackPeddling and Flow State Bike Co.
- If you’re hungry, we’ll have Pablas Street Food available for purchase, along with some delicious treats, offered by Unicorn Scoops ice cream (pedal-powered!) and Marquez Churros.
- To close out the event, we’ll lead a 4 km bike ride along the river, departing at 1:30 p.m.
- We’ll also have Painting Pals on-site with their glitter tattoo artists until 1 p.m. They’ll be offering free waterproof sparkly tattoos come in many designs to suit youth and adults alike!
There will be washrooms and picnic tables at the event, and don’t forget to bring your water bottle to fill up at the Water Wagon!
