Business Licence Self-Inspection Checklist
The Guelph Fire Prevention Division of the Guelph Fire Department will be conducting random, risk-based inspections for business licence renewals/applications throughout the year. Inspections may be unannounced with consideration taken to the type of occupancy being inspected.
The Guelph Fire Prevention Division has provided you access to a Self-Inspection Checklist which is now required to be completed by the business owner/manager as a requirement to obtain fire department approval for new applications and for yearly renewal. The Self-Inspection Checklist must be completed and returned to the Guelph Fire Prevention Division to obtain the fire department’s approval for your licence. This checklist will provide the business licence applicant with the required information for fire safety considerations.
The self-inspection check list follows the Ontario Fire Code as stated in Ontario Regulation 213/07 as amended made under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997 and does not imply or limit the responsibility of the owner or owner’s representative to carry out all of the provisions of the Fire Code at all times.
