Roads and Traffic

The Operations Department is responsible for all matters pertaining to traffic flow and road safety in Guelph. These services include the operation of Guelph’s traffic signals, identifying the appropriate use, size and placement of traffic control devices (signs, pavement markings, traffic signals), road safety, traffic calming, school crossing guards, special events occurring on the road allowance, temporary traffic control for work zones, traffic data collection, establishing speed limits, requests for on-street parking changes, school crossings, sight obstruction and traffic investigations.
