Bike Month Photo Contest rules and regulations

Entry in this contest constitutes acceptance of these contest rules and regulations.

1. Eligibility

In order to be eligible for this contest, entrants must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the province of Ontario. Contest entrants under 18 years of age must be represented by a parent or legal guardian. City of Guelph employees are not eligible to enter.

2. How to enter

To participate in Guelph’s Bike Month Photo Contest, you must email one photo of you on your bike (or another wheeled device, such as a scooter, skateboard, wheelchair, or other) and/or a photo of your bike or another wheeled device somewhere in the City of Guelph. Every photo should be emailed as a separate entry. If you require an alternate format, contact [email protected]. No purchase necessary. Unlimited entries per person (1 photo = 1 entry). If you do not wish to participate in Guelph’s Bike Month Photo Contest, you may still enter this contest by submitting the information indicated below to [email protected] or by mail to Communications, City Hall, 1 Carden Street, Guelph, ON, N1H 3A1. Every entrant must provide their first and last name, and email address.

3. Contest period

Online or email entries must be submitted between June 1 at 8:30 a.m. and June 30, at 11:59 p.m. 2024. Mailed entries must be post marked by June 30, 2024 and received before the draw date of July 5, 2022.

4. Disqualification

The City may disqualify any entry that:

  • Is incomplete, illegible, damaged or irregular;
  • Was submitted by illicit means; or
  • Does not conform with or satisfy these rules and regulations.

5. Limitation of liability

The City will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late or destroyed entries or for any typographical, printing, production, distribution, advertising or other errors or omissions with respect to this contest. The City may terminate this contest at any time without notice.

6. Prize

Prizes include gift cards to the following:

  • Ten (10) x $25 gift card to One Tooth Activewear
  • Two (2) x $25 gift card to Found Coffee
  • $150 gift card to Natural Choice Medical Clinic
  • Prize pack from Wellington Brewery, $45 in value (hop water and ball cap)
  • Prize pack from Sleeman Brewery, $85 in value (Hoodie and ball cap)
  • Prize pack Royal City Brewing Company, $30 in value (Pint glass and $20 gift card)
  • Prize pack from Speed River Bicycle, $116 in value (Muc-Off Bike Cleaning Kit)
  • Prize pack from Flow State Bike Co, $100 in value (water bottle, bike bell, reflective strips, socks, $20 gift card)
  • The prize must be accepted as awarded and is nontransferrable and non-redeemable for any cash value.

7. Winner selection

Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. Prizes will be awarded by a random draw from eligible entries on Monday, July 5, 2024. Each entrant whose entry is drawn must answer a skill testing question and sign a waiver and release, provided by the City, in advance of, and as a condition of, receiving the prize. Prize winners have 10 business days to claim their prize before another entrant is chosen in their place.

8. Privacy/Use of personal Information

The City is collecting personal information about entrants for the purpose of administering this contest. No further informational or marketing communications will be sent to an entrant as a result of entering this contest. Safety first! Never use a cell phone or camera while riding your bike. Don’t forget to use lights at dawn and dusk and always wear a helmet.
