Talented Guelph youth in the spotlight at River Run

Music Works|Stage Works: Mentorship program for youth culminates in two performances April 30, 2014, Guelph, ON – Guelph’s talented youth perform two different shows in Co-operators Hall at River Run Centre on May 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. The shows are part of MusicWorks|StageWorks, a mentorship program presented by River Run Centre in partnership with Guelph Youth Council and sponsored by TD Canada Trust. Now in its second year, the program offers youth real-life experience in putting on a professional-style show, from concept development to performance. The two-evening performances showcase 25 acts, including singers, guitarist, pianists, various bands, and spoken word. City to inspect 300 properties after finding termites at River Run Centre

The City will treat the affected area near the River Run Centre, remove stumps, wood chip mulch, and install termite traps in John Galt Park. In May, the City will inspect about 300 downtown properties to determine the size of the termite infestation. Once the area is defined, the City will implement a complete control plan, install traps and put further control measures into effect as required. Guelph Youth invited to apply for chance to perform on stage at River Run

Guelph, ON March 17, 2014 – River Run Centre and the Guelph Youth Council of the City of Guelph have teamed up again – with the support of TD Canada Trust – to offer MusicWorks|StageWorks, a hands-on mentorship program focused on the art of putting on a professional-style show. All youth, ages 13 to 19, interested in gaining new skills and taking part in a performance are invited to apply. The mentorship program offers aspiring performers real life experience in concept development, production and stage presence. Songstress Martha Wainwright makes solo stop at River Run

Singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright is slated to take the stage at River Run Centre on Sunday, October 20 at 8pm. Known for her hugely expressive voice, confessional lyrics, and self-deprecating style, Wainwright will perform works from her impressive arsenal of powerful songs, including tunes from her most recent release, Come Home to Mama.
