Potholes

City crews regularly inspect the 581 km of roadways and intersections according to the Municipal Act, Ontario Regulation 239/02 Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways to identify potholes and other road deficiencies.  Potholes can develop quickly when temperatures hover around zero degrees.

Pothole complaints are addressed on both a priority and scheduling basis. To report a pothole you will require the following information:

  • name of the street
  • nearest building number
  • name of the nearest cross-street
  • which lane (i.e., north bound lane, turning lane, etc.)
  • approximate size (i.e. dinner plate, manhole)
