The City is working to rehabilitate the existing retaining wall along the north edge of the Speed River in front of the Boathouse Tea Room. Work includes the construction of a concrete coping wall, addition of pedestrian railings and removal of some vegetation.
The area will be inaccessible from Fall 2024 to May 2025. Gordon Street may have short-term lane reductions as equipment may have to enter the roadway to reach all work areas.
Construction timeline
Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2024 and be completed by the end of May 2025.
All construction notices, including timing updates and traffic changes, will be posted at guelph.ca/construction and in the Latest updates section below.
The City of Guelph appreciates your patience and understanding as we complete this important infrastructure project.
