The City is working to rehabilitate the existing retaining wall along the north edge of the Speed River in front of the Boathouse Tea Room. Work includes the construction of a concrete coping wall, rehabilitation and repair of the existing structure, and a gravel trail.
This project is funded in part by the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF), previously known as the Federal Gas Tax Fund. The CCBF is a program established by the Government of Canada that provides support to Canadian municipalities for community infrastructure projects.

Construction is expected to begin in fall 2024 after Thanksgiving, and completed by the end of May 2025.
