About This Project
The City is building new facilities to support Guelph Transit and Fleet Services over the next 25 plus years so they work efficiently and effectively and satisfy service delivery requirements for a growing city.
The proposed 280,000 square foot Guelph Transit and Fleet Services facility is foundational infrastructure that will store, charge and maintain the City’s electric buses and other fleet vehicles. The facility will meet or exceed current building standards, will strive towards Zero Carbon Building Design standards, and will reduce energy consumption and expenses, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Building from the vision of the Guelph Innovation District Secondary Plan, the new developments in this area will protect, maintain, and enhance the valuable natural and cultural heritage resources surrounding the facility and feature sustainable buildings and infrastructure, in support of the City’s strategic plan.

- Site preparation to remove invasive species, vegetation, and install construction fencing and tree protection has been completed.
- A groundbreaking ceremony occurred, and construction on the facility officially began in Q2 2026.
- Site grading is underway to prepare the area for building construction and site services.
- Dewatering wells have been installed to facilitate stormwater pond construction.
