Blind Square at Riverside Park in Recognition of David and Lois Lamble

Riverside Park is now home to “BlindSquare,” a cutting-edge GPS app designed to empower people who are blind, deafblind, and partially sighted to independently navigate public space. Riverside Park is the first City of Guelph park to include Blind Square and a pilot location for this technology in Guelph parks. Blind Square navigation is available for free download; you may learn more about the app on the Blind Square website.

Blind Square at Riverside Park has been made possible by The Lions Club of Guelph who donated funds to set up this application. Through this donation, the Lions Club would like to recognize club members David and Lois Lamble who have made positive impacts to local communities through their work, volunteerism and membership in the Lions Club.

Playground

The updated play area offers a playground featuring a tube slide, tower, swings and climbing obstacles. Asphalt pathways, seating areas and a combination of rubber and wood surfaces for kids to play on surround the playground.

Disc golf

The course is located in the south-east corner of Riverside Park, parallel to Riverview Drive, right behind the fire station.

Anyone is welcome to play on the disc golf course including teams and families. You can play the course on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be respectful of ongoing games.
