Annually from September to June
Do you want to give back to your community? Do you want to keep children and pedestrians safe? Do you enjoy working outside? Become a school crossing guard!
Crossing guards are provided only when schools are open. You get time off when school is out, including weekends, PD days, and all holidays. Daily shifts are scheduled between 7:45 to 9 a.m. and 2:45 to 4 p.m.
Ensure the safe crossing of pedestrians and children as they travel to and from school.
Self-motivated, personable and able to communicate effectively, you will ensure elementary school children cross safely at designated school crossing locations in the city of Guelph. You are required to obey all established safety regulations and report and document any concerns. You will work approximately one to two shifts per day at school bell times from Monday to Friday in various weather and traffic conditions. Access to reliable transportation is required. Employment will be subject to providing a satisfactory police record check.
We are accepting applications for regular and spare guard positions. Shift times vary by location, depending on school bell times.
