About the centre

The Victoria Road Recreation Centre is a fully accessible, multi-purpose community centre that has a full range of facilities including an aquatic facility, a single-pad arena and community meeting rooms.

Features

Aquatic centre

The Aquatic Centre consists of three individual pools, change rooms, and a sauna. All three pools have an accessible chair lift.

• The Lap Pool (7560 square feet.) is a 50-metre pool with 6 lanes, or 12 lanes when divided into 2 25-meter pools. Temperature: 82-83 degrees Fahrenheit (27-28° Celsius).
• The Leisure Pool (1014 square feet) includes a ramp entry for easy access. Temperature: 86-87 degrees Fahrenheit (30-31° Celsius).

Arena

Victoria Road Recreation Centre has a single ice pad in the winter that is used as a dry floor in the summer. The seating section can hold about 250 people. There are six change rooms, four with shared washrooms and showers, and two with their own facilities. The arena facility has a rubberized surface that covers change rooms, players benches and around the outside of the arena surface. Our referee room is located beside dressing room one. An Automatic External Defibrillator Unit (AED) is located on the wall near the dressing rooms.

Programming and schedules

The Victoria Road Recreation Centre offers regular public swimming, skating and drop-in programs.

Additionally, The City of Guelph offers a variety of registered recreation programs and drop in recreation programs for individuals of all abilities. Guelph Recreation holds registration days four times a year: winter, spring/summer, fall and summer camp registration. Room rentals

The Victoria Road Recreation Centre has five activity rooms that can be booked. Capacity ranges from 16-125 people. All activity rooms have tables, chairs, audio/visual equipment and most rooms have a sink.
