Cast your vote in Guelph’s municipal election this October

Advance voting opens on October 10 at select locations across the city 

Eligible voters can cast their ballot during the advance voting period from October 10 to 18 or on Election Day, October 26. 

Eligible voters can cast their ballot for Mayor, City Councillors and School Board Trustees who will represent them over the next four years. Residents are encouraged to make their voting plan today. 

Ways to vote 

Vote during advance voting October 10 to 18 

Advance voting will take place on the following dates: 

October 10 and 11, 2026 

  • City Hall (1 Carden Street) 
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

October 12 to 15, 2026 

  • City Hall (1 Carden Street) 
  • 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

October 16 to 18, 2026 

  • City Hall (1 Carden Street) and one location in each Ward 
  • October 16: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • October 17: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • October 18: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Vote on Election Day 

Election Day is October 26, 2026. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eligible voters can vote anywhere in their ward or at City Hall (1 Carden Street)

Before you vote 

Check your Ward 

Your Ward determines where you vote for City Council. Check your Voter Information Card or visit guelph.ca/vote to confirm your Ward and voting location. 

Bring your ID and Voter Notification Card 

If you are on the Voters’ List, you will receive a Voter Notification Card by mail. The card includes information about your Ward and voting locations and is helpful to have when you go to vote, but is not required. 

To receive a ballot, you must provide identification showing your name and qualifying Guelph address.

Voting for students 

Are you a student studying in Guelph? You may be eligible to vote in both Guelph and your home municipality.

Free transit and parking on Election Day 

Free transit on Election Day 

On Election Day, October 26, Guelph Transit will provide free service to all riders travelling to and from voting locations. Plan your trip at guelph.ca/transit. 

Free voter parking 

Voters can park free at the Market Square Parkade on Election Day. No vehicle registration is required. 

Accessibility 

The City of Guelph is committed to providing accessible voting opportunities for all eligible voters. 

 Information about accessible voting locations, services and supports is available at guelph.ca/vote. All voting locations are physically accessible, and one voting location in each ward will offer accessible voting equipment.
