What’s happening:
On behalf of the City of Guelph, Sousa Concrete will be working on deficiencies, completing surface restorations and paving the south lane of the road along Grove Street, from Metcalfe Street to 184 Grove Street.
Why:
This is the remaining work left from the Grove Street reconstruction project. The contractor is addressing deficiencies and installing road surfaces.
When:
Construction crews are scheduled to return on or about September 29 depending on weather. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of October 2026. You may see crews on site ahead of September 29 for preparatory work.
Changes during construction
Traffic lanes: Grove Street will be closed to through traffic from Metcalfe Street to 184 Grove Street. Local traffic will be permitted along Grove Street during construction.
Sidewalks: No Changes.
Guelph Transit: No Changes.
Waste collection: Waste collection will continue throughout construction. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb earlier than usual as per your regular schedule.
Private driveway access: Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property.
