What’s happening:
Operation of a Multi-Phase Extraction System for investigative purposes whereby both air and groundwater are pumped out of specialized wells located on Surrey Street East.
Why:
To improve our understanding of the mobility of contaminants underneath the Fountain Street Parking Lot.
When:
Construction is scheduled to begin October 19 and is to be completed by November 6, weather permitting.
Changes during construction:
Traffic lanes: Temporary short-duration single lane closures. The road will not be closed in either direction of traffic.
Sidewalks: Temporary closure of the sidewalk on the West side of Surrey Street. The sidewalk on the East Side of Surrey Street will remain open. Clearly signed detours will be provided where pedestrian access is impacted.
Street Parking: On-street parking may be impacted in various locations – please follow signage.
Waste collection: No anticipated changes.
Private driveway access: No anticipated changes.
