Summer water fun starts Saturday!

Guelph, Ont., June 26, 2020 – The City’s splash pads, wading pools and outdoor pool are opening for the summer season with enhanced health and safety practices in place to keep you safe.

Market Square wading pool

Starting tomorrow, Market Square opens daily from 1 to 7 p.m. When you arrive, please line up at the entrance. Follow the signs that say where to go. Entry starts at the top of each hour and the session ends 45 minutes later. Fifty people can use the wading pool at one time.

Lyon Pool

Lyon Pool, located at 258 York Road, opens on Saturday, July 4.

Senior/accessibility swim Monday to Friday, 10-11 a.m.

Public swims

  • Monday to Friday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

All swims are free. Each session starts at the top of the hour and lasts 45 minutes. You must leave the pool area at the end of your session.

Splash pads

Starting July 6, Norm Jary, Northview, South End, Jubilee, and Waverley Park splash pads are open daily from 1 to 7 p.m. Splash pads are an unsupervised facility. Use at your own risk.

Hanlon Creek is closed for the season for construction.

Wading pools

Exhibition Park and Sunny Acres Park wading pools open daily starting Monday, July 13 from 1 to 7 p.m. The wading pools are closed each day between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. When you arrive, line up at the entrance. Follow the signs that say where to go. Entry starts at the top of each hour and the session ends 45 minutes later. Ten people can use the wading pool at one time.

All amenities close for the season at the end of day on Monday, September 7.

New rules during COVID-19

  • No toys or floats allowed. Life jackets are available (disinfected between uses) at Lyon Pool.
  • Stay two metres (6.5 feet) from people you don’t live with, or outside your social circle.
  • Stay home if you’re sick.
  • Washrooms are open at Lyon Pool and Market Square. Lockers/change rooms at Lyon Pool are closed.
