About Safe Semester
Safe Semester is in its 8th year of creating a safe and enjoyable downtown environment for businesses, residents and students. Road closures and additional amenities in the city’s core have shown to improve road safety, and decrease instances of littering, public urination and other nuisances.
Safe Semester is an initiative of Guelph’s Downtown Last Night Task Force, which includes representatives from the City of Guelph, Guelph Transit, Guelph Police Service, Downtown Guelph Business Association, University of Guelph, the Downtown Residents’ Neighbourhood Association and downtown businesses.
