For the first time ever, the City of Guelph has a Corporate Technology Strategic Plan—a road map, set of principles and vision for the future.
Although many major systems have been implemented by the City in the last decade, many of the basic capabilities needed to run the City are not working well. Through best practices research, it has been identified the City’s IT systems can be used much more effectively, to the benefit of the whole organization.
The Corporate Technology Plan, integral to implementing many of the City’s strategic initiatives, will provide the conditions for the City to deliver public services better. The plan contains recommendations for open government, IT governance, IT service standards and IT sustainability.
The plan also proposes easier, quicker access to City information at any time, more opportunities for citizen engagement and modern business systems. These would be the foundation for better public service using mobile technology and other e-customer service methods.Corporate Technology Strategic Plan
