Mark MacKinnon was elected a member of Guelph City Council representing Ward 6 in 2014.
Mark is a licensed real estate and mortgage broker who also owns a board game publishing company. He spent his formative years on a military base in Petawawa, Ontario before moving to Guelph to study Applied Chemistry at the University of Guelph. In 1999, he founded a game and book publishing company in Guelph, which soon grew to seven employees and more than two million dollars in annual retail sales. Mark closed the company in 2006 and pursued a career in real estate; in 2013, he revisited his publishing roots with a new start-up board game company.
Mark is a member of the Board of Guelph Spoken Word and creative director of the Ontario International Poetry Slam. He also serves as a member of the Upper Grand District School Board’s Parent Involvement Committee.
Mark lives in Ward 6 with his wife Karen and two sons, William (12) and Robert (9).Elected Councillor in 2014
