East and West Parkade Repairs

Macdonell Street between Wyndham Street and Wellington Street

The project

The City is undertaking parking garage repairs in the East and West Parkades off Macdonell Street between Wyndham Street and Wellington Street. This work is part of rehabilitation repairs of the two parking structures, where the majority of the work will be completed in the East Parkade on levels 2 and 2A, followed by minor repairs in the West Parkade. The construction elements include the removal and replacement of waterproofing and asphalt surfaces.

The project area is shown on the map.

Construction timeline

The East Parkade repairs started in August 2014 and expected to end in July 2015.

The West Parkade repairs are expected to start at the end of July 2015 and be completed by mid-October.

Property access and parking

Limited parking available in the East Parkade during structural repairs. There is no accessible parking or access to the River Run for events until construction is completed.

We do not anticipate any service disruptions to permit holders and members of the public using the West Parkade.

Every effort will be made to minimize disruption to parking and permit patrons. During the repairs, we ask the public and permit patrons to:

  • obey all the directional, entrance and exit signage, as well as closure signage;
  • obey all flag persons;
  • drive carefully and slowly through the parking structure; and
  • yield to pedestrians.

The City of Guelph appreciates your patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction project. Project details and updates are available on the City’s website at guelph.ca/construction.
