Mercer Street to Drew Street

The City of Guelph is working to install water main and sewer infrastructure on Bagot Street from Mercer Street to Drew Street.  During construction, the City will replace an existing 100 millimetre water main with a new 150 millimetre water main, storm sewers and catch basins, sanitary sewers, service connections, curbs, gutters and asphalt roadway.

The existing sidewalk on Bagot Street will be replaced with wider 1.5 to 2 metre sidewalks.

Construction timeline and impacts

Construction on the underground infrastructure started in April 2019 and was completed in summer 2020.

Bagot Street will be closed from Mercer Street to Drew Street the entire length of construction with local driveway access only. Any impacts to driveway access will be communicated to residents in advance of the work taking place.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

All construction notices, including timing updates and traffic changes will be posted at and in the latest updates section below.

The construction work is complete. The project will be in a warranty period until November 2021.

Public meetings

The City hosts open houses to provide detailed project information to interested stakeholders. Open house notices are posted in the latest updates section below. Open house materials will be available online following the event.
