Bagot Street reconstruction

Update: Work will re-commence in spring 2020

The contractor will not be completing any work during the winter months. The remaining work will be completed in spring 2020, which includes surface asphalt paving on Bagot Street and tree planting.

During final paving operations residents will not have access to their driveways. Adequate notice will be given to all residents in advance of paving operations, which will include the dates and duration for which driveway access will be impacted.

Mercer Street to Drew Street

The City of Guelph is working to install water main and sewer infrastructure on Bagot Street from Mercer Street to Drew Street.  During construction, the City will replace an existing 100 millimetre water main with a new 150 millimetre water main, storm sewers and catch basins, sanitary sewers, service connections, curbs, gutters and asphalt roadway.

The existing sidewalk on Bagot Street will be replaced with wider 1.5 to 2 metre sidewalks.

Construction starts in April

Construction on the underground infrastructure is expected to start in mid-April and be completed by the end of 2019.

Bagot Street will be closed from Mercer Street to Drew Street the entire length of construction with local driveway access only. Any impacts to driveway access will be communicated to residents in advance of the work taking place.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

All construction notices, including timing updates and traffic changes will be posted at guelph.ca/construction and in the latest updates section below.

Public meetings

The City hosts open houses to provide detailed project information to interested stakeholders. Open house notices are posted in the latest updates section below. Open house materials will be available online following the event.
