What motivated you to be a part of this project?

My Canadian heritage has always been an important aspect of my life. Tremendous courage was shown in the defence of our nation by my ancestors and fellow Canadians today. These individuals motivate me in everything I do, including this project.

What was going through your mind when you were “Sitting in Remembrance” for the project?

Sitting for this project felt eerily similar to standing vigil inside Sleeman Centre during past Remembrance Day ceremonies. It was a time of personal and cultural reflection.

What message do you want to pass along to future generations about your life’s experiences?

People are like trees. We have branches and leaves for everyone to see but our roots remain hidden. Just like trees our roots are important to who we are, and form the basis for our future life. Explore your heritage and you just may be surprised what you can learn about yourself.
