2018 Market Mornings Artist – Stephanie Clarke

Local multi-disciplinary artist, Stephanie Clarke, led four outdoor art-making activities that were open and free to the public during the month of August at Guelph Farmers’ Market.

Clarke’s project, entitled “Patching Guelph Together,” invited community members to create their own unique patches that demonstrated what the city means to them and what they hope it can become.

The project supported the City’s efforts to create a community plan and engaged the community in an artful conversation about Guelph’s future.

Each Saturday participants customized individual patches that depicted iconic Guelph images, and had the chance to reflect on what it means to be a part of this community, and what this city was like before they arrived. The activity fostered collaboration and conversation, and participants were able to take their custom iron-on patches home with them.
