Market Square lit red and white for Food Day Canada

August 3 at 9:00 pm to August 4 at 6:00 am

o

Market Square will be lit red and white for Food Day Canada on August 3rd.

The goal of Food Day Canada® – Journée des terroirs is simple. It’s to ensure that for one day, Canadians will come together to honour and shine a light on the extraordinary quality of our food and culinary talent.  Food Day Canada is a time and place for Canadians to share their food and their stories with each other while showcasing and celebrating cultural diversity, magnificent flavours … and fun!  We are putting Canada on the menu!

This year Food Day Canada will raise the grid even higher and light up the nation coast to coast to coast by illuminating an array of our iconic buildings and structures in all their magnificence.  We are Lighting up Canada from BC Place to Toronto’s CN Tower to Niagara Falls and Newfoundland’s Confederation Building;  the Halifax, Charlottetown and Vancouver City Halls, the Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon and the British Columbia Legislative Assembly in Victoria and the Legislature in Edmonton…with more to come, all are being illuminated in honour of Canadian cuisine and to salute the farmers, the fishers and all our culinary creative class who feed us so well.
