Market Mornings – #PatchingGuelphTogether
August 25 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Saturday, repeating until August 25, 2018
Local multi-disciplinary artist, Stephanie Clarke (, will lead four outdoor art-making activities that are open and free to the public during the month of August at Guelph Farmers’ Market.
Clarke’s project, entitled “Patching Guelph Together,” invites community members to create their own unique patches that demonstrate what the city means to them and what they hope it can become.
The project will support the City’s efforts to create a community plan and will engage the community in an artful conversation about Guelph’s future.
Each Saturday participants will customize individual patches that depict iconic Guelph images, and will have the chance to reflect on what it means to be a part of this community, and what this city was like before they arrived. The activity will foster collaboration and conversation, and participants will be able to take their custom iron-on patches home with them.
Each patch will be photographed and shared using the hashtag, #PatchingGuelphTogether, with the full collection of images on display at the City’s Culture Hub & Makers Market occurring over Culture Days | Fête de la culture weekend on Saturday September 29 from 9 a.m. until noon.
Market Mornings run every Saturday during August from 10 a.m. until noon in the Farmers’ Market parking lot.
