Fire Prevention Day

October 12 at 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

On Saturday, October 12, the Guelph Fire Department is hosting its annual Fire Prevention Day event where residents can learn more about fire safety in the home and the importance of having a home fire escape plan that is practiced regularly.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Home Depot located at 63 Woodlawn Road West.

Inside the store, children are invited to build a fire rescue plane. As space is limited, pre-registration is required through the store’s website homedepot.ca. Outside, residents are invited to meet firefighters, check out the antique fire truck and inflatable fire safety house, learn how to use a fire extinguisher, and get valuable tips on how to put out a cooking fire. Sparky the fire dog will also make a special appearance.
