Participate in the Council composition virtual town hall on August 25

August 25 at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

We’re hosting a virtual town hall on Tuesday, August 25 from 6-7 p.m. on the first phase of the Council composition and ward boundary review. Join us to learn more about the council composition portion of the review and ask questions of the project team.

During the meeting, we will discuss:

  • How many Councillors Guelph needs in each ward
  • Whether Councillors should be full time or part time
  • Whether Councillors should be dedicated to a specific ward or if they could serve Guelph at large

We’re reviewing Guelph’s council composition and ward boundaries to explore whether the city’s local government structure should change as it grows. Phase one of the review is underway until September 4, looking at council composition. Phase two, a review of Guelph’s ward boundaries, will take place in January 2021. Learn more at
