15th Annual Guelph Clean and Green Community Cleanup
April 21 at 8:30 am to 11:30 am
On Saturday, April 21 the City of Guelph is hosting its 15th annual Clean and Green community cleanup—one of the city’s largest community environmental cleanup events.
This is your opportunity to spend a few hours “spring cleaning” your neighbourhood by joining others to pick up litter along Guelph’s streets, green spaces and community parks.
Last year, more than 1,100 people participated and picked up 6,000 kilograms ( 13,227 pounds) of litter. It is true that when we work together, we can make a big difference.
The 2018 cleanup is open to everyone: individuals, teams, and neighbourhood and community groups. Participating high school students can earn credit towards their community involvement hours. Students must ask the crew leader to sign the required form.
Participants will be provided with cleanup kits, including safety vests for teams picking up litter along busy roads.
Cleanup kits can be picked up at the Victoria Road Recreation Centre, located at 151 Victoria Road North, on April 18 and 19 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To celebrate, there will be a free barbecue lunch at Riverside Park following the cleanup.
