Guelph, Ont., October 7, 2020 – The covered bridge will be closed periodically between October 3-9 for a special community and tourism revitalization project to be announced at a later date.
Access to the bridge from the Boathouse on the west end and York Road Park on the east end of the bridge will be impacted from:
October 5-9 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and in the evenings on October 6 and 7.
During closure times, pedestrians and cyclists using the Royal Recreation Trail/Eramosa River Trail from either side should detour northeast via York Road, west on Wellington Street West and south on Gordon Street to reconnect across the river.
Parking lot, pedestrian and drive through access closed October 8
The south entrance to the Boathouse parking lot off Gordon Street and drive through access to the north part of the parking lot in front of the covered bridge and Lawn Bowling Club will be closed on Thursday, October 8 from noon to 5 p.m. for tree maintenance. Pedestrians must use Gordon Street to walk around the closure. Vehicles need to use the north side of the parking lot entrance to access local businesses.
