Construction notice: Manitoba Street lane reductions and closures starting November 27

Ontario Street to Huron Street

About the project

Pinchin Ltd. will be conducting a geotechnical investigation on Manitoba Street. Work involves the drilling of boreholes.

Performing this investigation is part of the Manitoba Street Reconstruction project. It will give the project team an accurate understanding of the subsurface of the roadway, including groundwater levels.

Work begins November 27

Work is scheduled to start on or about November 27 and take about three days to complete, weather permitting.

Lane reductions expected

Manitoba Street will undergo lane reductions during the project. Due to the narrow roadway, Manitoba Street may undergo temporary (no more than a couple hours) road closures. Please follow posted signs for safety.

Pedestrian access

The south sidewalk on Manitoba Street will be closed to pedestrians during the project. Please use nearby crossings to use the north sidewalk.

Property and business access and parking

All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
