City announces Terry Gayman as new City Engineer

Guelph, Ont., November 12, 2019— The City of Guelph is pleased to announce that Terry Gayman has been chosen to fill the position of general manager of Engineering and Transportation Services and City Engineer.

Gayman has been acting in the role of general manager since August of this year when Kealy Dedman was promoted to deputy CAO of Infrastructure, Development and Enterprise Services.

“After a search that had us interviewing both internal and external candidates, we’re confident we’ve found the best person to fill this role,” says Kealy Dedman, deputy CAO of Infrastructure, Development and Enterprise Services. “Terry has been with the City for five years and has shown great leadership on key City projects including the implementation of the stormwater service fee and management of the environmental investigation of the IMICo property to support its redevelopment.”

Gayman has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a registered Professional Engineer.

Before coming to work for the City as the manager of Infrastructure, Development and Environmental Engineering in 2014, Gayman was a project manager and associate for an engineering firm for eight years.
