Construction notice: Cardigan Street lane reductions and parking restrictions starting September 12

UPDATE: Construction work on Cardigan Street between Woolwich Street and Norwich Street is being rescheduled to 2020. Construction was originally scheduled to start on September 12, 2019.

About the project

The City is working with Capital Paving Inc. to:

  1. Remove and repair concrete curbs,
  2. Raise manholes, and
  3. Repave the road surface.

All work will take place on City property.

Work begins September 12

Work is expected to start on or about September 12, and take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Lane reductions and parking restrictions

There will be lane reductions on Cardigan Street during the project. Through traffic will be maintained at all times. Please follow posted signs for safety. A full road closure is not expected, however, delays should be expected.

No on-street parking will be permitted in the construction area.

Pedestrian access

The sidewalks in this area will remain open and accessible during the project.

Property and business access and parking

All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
