At Wilson Street
The City is working with Drexler Construction Ltd. to reconstruct Northumberland Street. Work includes the replacement of asphalt surface and curbs.
Work begins July 22
Work is expected to begin on or about July 22, and take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Northumberland Street closed starting July 22
Northumberland Street will be closed to through traffic during the project.
Alternative parking arrangements will be made. Those affected by the closure will be contacted by the Parking Office directly to arrange alternative parking.
The sidewalks in this area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access is not permitted.
Property and business access
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
Guelph Transit routes 9, 41 and 99 will be temporarily detoured during construction. Visit guelphtransit.ca for information about stop changes and route detours.
