UPDATE: Construction notice: Cork Street closed July 25

UPDATE: The Cork Street closure has been extended by two weeks to install the new gas main. Cork Street will remain closed until about August 9, weather permitting.

About the project

Enbridge/Union Gas are replacing their underground gas mains along Norfolk Street.

Work starts July 25

Work is scheduled to begin on July 25, and take about one day to complete, weather permitting.

Cork Street closed at Norfolk Street

Cork Street will be closed to through traffic at Norfolk Street. Only local traffic will be permitted on Cork Street between Norfolk Street and Dublin Street North. No private driveways will be blocked.

Pedestrian access

The sidewalks on Cork Street will remain open and accessible during construction.

The sidewalks on Norfolk Street are expected to remain open, however, pedestrians should follow posted signs for their safety.

Property and business access and parking

All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
